The SV3100 is self-powered, creating its own electricity from the conversion of propane to CO2. It requires 1 AA battery to power ignition, but no electrical cords are needed. The redesigned propane ignition configuration all but eliminates ignition tube clogging that has plagued some propane traps. The catch tray has been relocated from below to above the fan, so the insects do not hit the fan on the way in, much cleaner. It uses a plastic catch tray which is more durable than a net. It runs continuously, 24 hours a day. Both of these are among the most effective traps available.		The SV5100 uses the same engine as the SV3100, but uses a slightly larger nozzle to release CO2. That is the only difference. As a result, it can attract more biting insects. It also has a wheeled cart which makes it easier to move. Otherwise, the 2 traps are the same. Either one works very well, but this one is easier to move and can catch a few more mosquitoes due to the release of more CO2.

Octenol or Lactic Acid? If you have daytime biters get the Nosquito 2-in-1 lure. If not, use Octenol (FineTune) or the 2-in-1 lure.
Add Repellents. The best defense combines traps and repellents. Add Cognito or Mosquito Sentry repellents for protecting the space around you. Mosquito Patches provide personal protection.

About Skeeter Vacs

HOW THEY WORK Both traps lure mosquitoes into the machine by using CO2, blinking LED lights, moisture, heat, Octenol and Lactic Acid (if you use the Nosquito 2 in 1 Combo lure). As they enter the trap, a fan sucks the insects into a removable catch tray where they quickly dehydrate and die. The plastic catch tray is removed for cleaning as needed. Both have an exterior Tac Trap, which is a sticky paper trap. It adds about 20% to the catch.

They require NO electrical connection. The startup is powered by one AA battery. After that, it gets electricity from the process of converting propane to CO2.

OPERATION Startup is simple. Load the Combo lure or Fine Tune Octenol. Put the TacTrap over the trap. Open the gas tank valve at the tank. Hold down the control valve and immediately press and hold the

igniter button until you hear a POP sound indicating ignition.

It usually occurs within 30 seconds. Continue to hold the control button down for 30 seconds. The engine gauge will move into the green zone, LED lights flicker and air will flow out the bottom of the unit. We recommend that you turn it off in heavy rain. Operation manuals can be opened below.

Trap Placement
The trap must be properly sited to work effectively. Mosquitoes find targets by smell. Mosquito can smell CO2 at over 100 ft, but only see for about 30 ft. So you want the CO2 between you and the mosquitoes. The trap should be at least 35 feet away from the nearest person or animal, or they will go towards them rather than the trap.
