What is best for you? It depends on the type of mosquitoes you have and your yard size. See our recommendations. To be the most effective, use both a mosquito trap (or traps) and repellents.

Away from home, we highly recommend the Mosquito Patch instead of DEET for outdoor activity. Longer lasting, more effective, no smell or mess.

Mosquito Traps		Mosquito traps work by attracting and capturing female mosquitoes (the males don't bite). The most effective traps release CO2.	Mosquito Repellents		Area mosquito repellents protect the area near you by repelling them. Combined with traps, they are the best defense against mosquitoes and biting insects. Personal repellents protect you when you are outdoors for extended periods.

The Dragonfly II is a brand new corded trap that has outperformed all traps in tests. It uses small easy to attach CO2 tanks, not propane. It has 8 modes of operation.

The cordless SV5100 is the big brother to the SV3100. It releases more CO2 and has wheels for easier movement. It also has 2 traps, an interior catch tray and an exterior sticky trap.

The MT350 Plus is a corded trap that has a timer, so propane lasts much longer if operated at dawn and dusk. (A tank will last about 500 hours, so 5 hours daily = 100 days).

Indoor/Outdoor Trap does not use CO2, and is good for small spaces. It is small, silent and unobtrusive. It will kill mosquitoes, gnats and other biting insects. Portable and easy to clean.

The Cognito (left) works by confusing mosquitoes, gnats and other biting insects so that they stay away from you. The Thermacells (2 on right) repel mosquitoes from a small area. You place these small devices close to you.

The Mosquito Patch is for personal protection, like a DEET based spray without the drawbacks. It is safe and non-toxic. It releases Vitamin B1 through your skin. 2 patches per package. Minimum order is 10 packs.

Larger yards with any type of mosquito. Many modes save CO2.

Larger yards with Asian Tigers, midges, no-seeums. Operates 24 hours. Cordless.

Recommended lure & replacement period

Use the Combo Lure (Octenol and Lactic Acid if you have daytime biters; use Dragonfly octenol if you have mosquitoes mainly at dawn and dusk. Replace every 30 days.

Use the Combo Lure (Octenol and Lactic Acid. Replace every 30 days. Also replace the external sticky Tac Trap when 80% full or at least every 3 months.

Use the Flowtron Octenol. Replace every 30 days.

Use the Liquid lure. Refill weekly.

Cognito - Use Conceal. Replace every 360 hours of use. Thermacell - Replace pads every 4 hours and butane every 12 hours.

Apply 2 hours before exposure. Wear for 24 hours. Protection lasts for 36 hours.
